Why this role?
We are seeking an experienced program professional to support the delivery of the Here For The Game (HFTG) pilot project in South Australia. You will actively engage and recruit sports clubs to the pilot via phone, online and in-person contact, and support them to implement the program as it is designed. Your day-to-day work will include managing relationships with community stakeholders; delivering a range of promotional activities with sports clubs and other local groups; as well as maintaining high quality data and records for the pilot. You will be integral in achieving service delivery goals and play a key role in the ultimate success of the program.
Who are we looking for?
Experience and skills that will set you up for success in this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, health promotion or related field or demonstrated experience in a community development role
- Demonstrated experience facilitating health promotion, gambling, AOD or similar community-based programs
- Understanding of community development principles and a willingness to visit and engage with communities to support delivery of place-based harm prevention approaches
- An understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and an interest in working collaboratively with community to achieve outcomes
- Awareness of gambling and drug and alcohol-related issues, harm reduction and harm minimisation approaches
- An ability to self-motivate, to plan effectively and deliver on program performance objectives and targets.
- A driver’s license and own vehicle is essential as the role will involve state-based travel.
The successful candidate will also be required to obtain a Working With Children Check.
